Lin Daye

Lin Daye, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of Wuxi Symphony Orchestra, Music Director and Chief Conductor of Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Special Invited Conductor of China Symphony Orchestra, Deputy Director of Composition and Conduction Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Visiting Professor of Shenzhen Conservatory of Music, Backbone Member of "First Class Band Talent Training and Practice" of Shanghai Municipal Innovation Team, Director of China Musicians Association and Member of Shanghai Youth Federation. In addition, he also won the He Luting Art Achievement Award in 2020 and 2022, the National Arts Fund Youth Performance Artist Award in 2020, and the championship of the 6th George Soldy International Conducting Competition in 2012.

Lin Daye was born in 1980 and studied under Professor Xu Xin, a conductor educator at the Central Conservatory of Music, Professor Zhang Guoyong at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and Professor Christian Edward at the Hans Eisler Conservatory in Berlin, Germany. He also obtained a diploma as the highest performer in Germany.

In 2009, Lin Daye served as the resident conductor of the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra. From 2010 to 2015, he was appointed as a permanent conductor of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. During this period, he conducted multiple domestic and international tours with the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. In 2012, he won the championship of the 6th Sir George Soddy International Conducting Competition held in Frankfurt, Germany, becoming the first Chinese person to receive this honor. In the same year, he was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award by the Guangdong Musicians Association.

In September 2015, Lin Daye returned to Shanghai Conservatory of Music to teach at the Department of Conduction, currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Department.

In May 2016, Lin Daye officially became the music director and chief conductor of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra. Since then, he has led the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra to conduct domestic and international exchange performances every year, visiting countries and regions such as Germany, the United States, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Canada, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, and participating in the Slovenian Lubriana Music Festival, Romania International Radio Music Festival, Italy Emilia Romagna Music Festival, and Melano Music Festival Important international music festivals such as Donizetti Music Festival, Castello City International Music Festival, and Shanghai Spring International Music Festival in China. In addition, Lin Daye is often invited to conduct many well-known domestic and foreign bands, which are widely popular.
